Deposit / Cancellation Policy

To secure any dates, a 25% non-refundable deposit is due upon booking.  If an individual representing a group is booking the Resort with the intention of filling it to capacity, a $1000 non-refundable deposit is required to hold that space.  We will continue to advertise this time frame as being available, however we will not take any commitments without consulting the representative who has made the initial security deposit.  As soon as that individual has paid God's Pocket 25% for all 12 spaces, we will then post the dates as being unavailable.

 

Full balance is due 90 days prior to the "Pick up" date.  If full payment has been made and this person is unable to come, no monies will be refunded

This spot can be transferred to another individual.

We expect that person that cancels to put energy into recruiting someone to take his or her place.  We will also use our resources to help this person find an alternative.

 

Payment can be made by VISA, MC, Interac E-transfer, bank transfer, bank draft and personal checks (other than US checks).  If credit card is the decided method of payment, we will accept a 25% non-refundable payment free of any processing fees.  If the balance is paid by Credit Card, we will need to charge an additional 3.5% Processing Fee.  Unfortunately we do not do enough Credit Card transactions to get the advantage of a low fee. 

All processing fees will be waived for the 2019 and 2020 season.

 

Early Departure/Extended Stay

On occasion, the weather has made it unsafe to travel on pick-up and drop-off days.  Because of this, we have had times where we were needing to drop off the group early, or in some cases have them stay later than scheduled.  (approx.8 times in 18 years)

 

From now on:

1.  If we were to take a group or individual (s) into town prior to the drop off date, or if they were to be stuck in Port Hardy past the pick up dates, we will not be offering a refund or credit.

2.  If the group or individual (s) were to be stuck at God's Pocket past the departure dates, we will charge each person a fee of $250 (2017) plus tax for each day they are there.  God's Pocket will be responsible for all of their meals and lodging needs.  There will be no diving unless terms can be agreed upon at that time.

 

We are in discussion with our underwriters to see about "Business Interruption Insurance" to waive the $250 p.p.Fee

 

For guests residing outside of Canada, DAN (Divers Alert Network) offers a wonderful Cancellation Insurance Policy as does "Dive Assure" to take care of such events.  We encourage you to purchase this insurance.  For our Canadian guests, we would recommend doing some research to see what policies are available through your own insurance company.

 

In the past, there have been requests of a refund knowing what our policy is.  Please spare us the discomfort of having to say "no" by honoring this policy.
